Welcome to our new Principal Ms Maria D'Aloia

Farewell to Mrs Kerry Neville

Welcome

Mrs Maria D'Aloia  will be with us on Monday 30th May 2016 to take up her new appointment as Principal, and we look forward to welcoming her formally to the school and community.

She is very much looking forward to beginning her time with us, so take the opportunity to meet her and introduce yourselves to her in the near future.

Farewell

We give thanks for Mrs Neville for the time she has spent in our community since the beginning of the year.  It has been wonderful to welcome her back among us and at all times she has been an outstanding leader and a compassionate and wise person who has supported all of us.  We will miss her, and wish her well as she leaves us and takes up another leadership role later this term.

Catholic Education Week Celebrations

Friday 13 May - Friday 20th May 2016

This week on Friday, 13th May, all Catholic schools across the state, will be celebrating CATHOLIC EDUCATION WEEK until Friday 20th May.  This is the first time all of our schools have celebrated in such a way, and in doing so, we have much to celebrate and be thankful for.

During Catholic Education Week we celebrate our belief that every child matters; we believe in the development of the whole child: this includes social, emotional, religious, physical, academic and community development.  We also celebrate and give thanks to all families for choosing St Joseph's, and we are both delighted and privileged to be able to work in partnership with you in the interests of providing a wonderful education and life experience for your children.

We have attached a flyer with events that will be happening during Catholic Education Week.

May the Month of Mary

The Christian tradition honours Mary, the mother of Jesus, and we acknowledge the many qualities of motherhood that Mary showed to people on a daily basis.  We know that she was a loving and caring mother to Jesus, a faithful and loving wife to Joseph, and a woman of action on behalf of the many people she encountered who needed practical help and support.  Mary was a woman of faith whose strength came from her relationship with God and her ability to listen deeply to what God was asking of her.

Mary suffered intensely when her Son, Jesus, was misunderstood, criticised, mocked and put to death.  Mary remained at his side, continuing to love and support him.  Jesus gave Mary into the keeping of the apostle John, to be mother of us all.

Mary is a woman of mercy and kindness, a disciple of Jesus and a model for all of us in living out our daily lives.
