Camps

Camps are a very important part of our school program.  They enable our children to experience many out-of-classroom learning opportunities.  Being on camp also promotes social and organisational skills around students living away from home and being in charge of themselves and their belongings.  The activities offered during the camp are quite different to those in school and involve group work and significant timetabling - thereby requiring children to manage their own time and requirements for each activity.

Due consideration is always given to the costs of these extra-curricular activities and, while the school intend that all children will take part, no child will be disadvantaged because of any financial difficulty.

At St Joseph's Middle Years students attend a camp once every two years.  In the alternate year a range of enrichment activities, including a Winter Sleepout, take place.
